Welcome Duke!!

Jake finally gets a dog of his own. I guess he figured that since Jacksongot a puppy for his birthday this year, he should be able to get a puppy as well.
Travis and Jake had been looking on the internet for a puppy and when Jake came across these little guy's, he was sold. Travis told him they would go and see them, and I knew that as soon as either of them saw them in person we would ave another dog.
Travis called me at work and told me that he was taking Jake to look at these puppies, and I told him not to buy one, to wait and we would discuss it later.
Needless to say, when I got home from work we were the new owner's of a German Short Hair Pointer....named Duke!
Jake loves this little dog and has been working hard at taking him out durring the night and making sure he doesnt have any accidents. Jake sleeps like a log, so there have been many nights I have been woken up to a barking dog, and walked in Jake's room to find him still slound asleep.
I know that Jake will take good care of this new little pup, and I hope that one day when they all go hunting together and have that amazing day with the birds, that I will then be glad we got this new pup. But, until then.............

Pre Draft Football....

Jackson has decided that he want's to play football this year, so here we are at the pre season draft days. This is where the boy's come and play their hearts out and get notice for the 2 teams that they will have for this age group.

I have a friend that I work with and her son is playing this year as well and will be in Jackson's age group as well. She know's one of the coaches for one of the teams, and we are hoping that our boy's get on the same team this year. It was funny to go and watch these kids learn the drills and moves that they will need to know for the upcoming season. While we were there I happened to see a guy from our ward that Jake really likes (Brandon Butler), and come to find out he is one of the coaches for one of the teams this year, and the guy that my friend knows is his assistant coach. Crossing our finger's for their team!!

I cant wait to watch Jackson play football. He has always loved sports and although he is small in comparison to some (most) of the boy's his age, he has the heart and drive to do really well. This is going to be so much fun!!!

Street Fire on the 24th of July!!

Happy 24th of July!!!! This has become a tradition in the "Hood"!!! We all buy some fireworks and after swimming in the pool and having a BBQ we go out in front of our house and light off the fireworks in the street.

This year Cindy and I took a field trip over to the Firework stand by our house, and since it is legal to have the BIG fireworks this year, we stocked up. The kid's also really like the parachute men that you light off and the shoot an army man in the air, and on the way down they have a parchute that come out and the boy's chase them hoping to be the lucky one to catch it. Even the big boy's take part in this game!

It is so much fun to have such great friends and neighbors to have these traditions with, and to make these memories with as well. Next year we have all said "Bigger and Better"!!!

The Boy's of Fall

Here we go.... It's game time!!! I am so excited for Jackson. He has been practicing so hard and now it is time to start the season. I have been amazed with just how much they have these little guys practice. It is an everyday, for 2 hours long, hot summer days comitment, and Jackson is loving every minute of it.

This is the first game of the season and today they won by a touchdown. Jackson is one of the smallest on the team and has alot of growing to do, but I know if they measured desire and heart, he would stand taller than most of the other's.

Jackson got to play his 10 play's today, and while in he did very well. He is so fast that he is able to run and get the players or be across the line quicker than most. I know he will be a great player as the season goes on, and he has a chance to learn a bit more about the fundimentals of the game.

It was really fun to watch the boy's after half time, run through the banner that we made for them. There was a loud song about the Wolf Pack on the sound system, and the boy's all went running through the banner thinking they were on top of the world. They all look so cute in there uniforms as well. This is going to be so much fun to watch as Jackson learns to play the game he LoVeS!!! Go Plain City Blue!!

Playin at the POOL.....

We are so lucky to have neighbors with a pool! It is always so much fun to go next door and swim with the Palmer's. Jake and Jackson have become fish once again, and are always so happy when the hear Scott or Cindy invite them over to swim.

It has become a topic in our house, that the boy's cannot go out onto the deck and ask if they can come and swim, they need to be invited over. So, when they see Scott or Cindy out by the pool, the boy's will go out back and we can hear them say, "Hi Scott", or "Hi Cindy". It instnt very long after that we have two boy's in the house saying "can we go over and swim?" "we were invited".

Happy Huntsville 4th of July!!!

Happy 4th of July!! It is always so wonderful to spend the day in Huntsville with family. This year is no diffrent, except the family is bigger. This year Gary and his family came to spend the day in Huntsville with the family, and enjoy all of the Huntsville festivities!

The day starte as most 4th of July's in Huntsville with the Parade, and the Jet's buzzing the park. That is my very favorite part of the day I think. I am so greatful to be an Amewrican and to live where and how I do. It is emotional every year as I feel the power of the Jets as they fly over head, it is such an Awesome feeling!!

After the parade and all the tractors and old cars, we walk around the park for a bit and see what kind of fun things and good food there might be to enjoy this year. It is always nice to hear the local entertainment that performs as well. There were alot of good performances today.

After we walked around the park for a while we made our way back to the house and ate some yummy 4th of July food. Bar B Q's, salad's and lots of other yummy food!! While we were eatting some of the other's made their way down to the water. Greg (Gary's son) brought up his boat and Gary had his wave runners there as well, for everyone to play with. Greg was so nice to drive the kids all around the dam as they took turns ridding the tubes behind the boat. It was alot of fun, and a good chance to get to know the new part of the family as well.

It was kind of an over cast day, and we even had a little rain, but as the day went on the clouds minimized and the weather cleared up enough for all to start setting out the blankets in the park and await the fireworks. Ever since we moved from Huntsville we dont stay for fireworks in the park. We instead drive home to Farr West and go into the backyard and watch them in Willard, Roy, South Ogden, Ogden, and North Ogden. It is so fun to watch all of the firework shows all at once.

I love the 4th of July, it is my very favorite holiday. It means so much to live where we do, and to have all of the many freedoms that this country holds. Happy 4th of July!!
