MeMoRiAl DaY 2011

Although the weather was wet and gloomy, the mood was bright as we made our way around to the graves this Memorial Day. Each year, Travis's Mom plans a gathering so that we as a family can pay respect at each of the family graves. We started this year at Taylor's. It was quite emotional as we arrived and saw the "BR" (Bear River) that some friends had placed on her grave. Taylor would have graduated this year from High School, and the BR was a craft project that was made and given to some of the girls of the graduating class of 2011. It was real special to see that Taylor had not been forgotten on such a memorable event. The saying "Gone, but not forgotten" comes to mind when I saw those black and red letter. She is missed.

Next we headed to Huntsville to visit the graves there. It is one of the most beautiful cemeteries, and such a peaceful spot of earth. It is always hard for Travis to visit, and know that his father is buried there. He is such an amazing man and father. I truly believe that although he has passed from this earth he is still a big part of his children's lives. It is always such a neat time to visit and show our respect and love for this wonderful man.

Huntsville Cemetery is also the place where Grandpa Clair is buried. I have often wondered as we have spent time in this cemetery, as to the bond that these two men must share. I have a feeling that they are great friends and brother's, and I know without a doubt that they both respect and love each other for the family that I am so blessed to be a part of. Clair was one of the most giving men I have ever known! He has taught us all so many lessons, that I reflect on daily. I have never known a man to have so much, and give as much as he had. His lessons of love and kindness have influenced not only my life, but the life of my boy's. Grandpa Clair is an example of Christ like love, and we think of him often.

After we visit the graves we always share a delicious meal together as a family. It is so great that we are able to gather and spend this time together making memories. I am so blessed and honored to ave known each of these amazing people. Some I have known through others, but I feel I know them just the same. What a wonderful day we have had to celebrate Memorial Day!!!!

Last Day of School

It is hard for me to believe that another school year has come to an end!! What a GrEaT year this has been!!
Jake is moving on to Jr. High next year (gasp) and this was the last year with them both in Elementary together. I know it was alot of fun for them both to have the chance to see each other in the school, or at recess during the day. They really are BeSt FrIeNdS!!!
I was so lucky to spend time at the school again this year and get to see them in their classes and with their peers as well. They are great boy's and I am so proud of them.
I want them both to know that they can achieve any dream or goal they have by applying themselves and working hard.
Enjoy the Summer, play hard and have FUN!!!!!!

FINALLY..........

Jackson has learned to ride a two wheeler. I am not really sure what his hold up has been but for the last couple of years he has had zero desire to learn how to ride his bike.

Jackson had a little friend over today after school andthis friend of his actualy races BMX bikes and goes off jumps and does all kinds of crazy stuff. (Mind you he is Jackson's age) He has been riding a bike since he was 2 years old. Well with his help and encouragement, Jackson started toride his bike. Forget Mom, running along side of you, or Dad helping you get your balance, no it is a 7 year old friend that motivated this little one to ride.

It has been so much fun to watch him crusie up and down the street and have the confidence to ride, and ride well. He hasnt even had a major crash, which I am ok with. I can remember when I learned to ride a bike on my own, and it was a struggle, not with Jackson he hoped on his bike and with some words of encouragment, off he went. A Natural.

What a fun night this has been to see the pure excittment on his face with this Awesome accomplishment!!

Lamb #3 // Scarlotte

Well it is that time once again......lamb time!! This is one of the best times of the year, for Jake!! He loves to go and pick out his lamb and start to take care of it for the Weber County Fair at the end of summer. This year Jake chose a Ewe lamb. He seems to like the Ewe's, they are a little easier for him to handle, and he likes to hope that they could be sold as a breeding ewe.

This Scarlett, Jakes lamb for the fair this year. It has been alot of fun toget back into the swing of the lamb. I am so glad that Jake does this, not only for the money he earns to put away for future uses, but also for the experiance it give him, and the knowelage he gains every year.

This to me is the time I feel that Summer is here and all the fun adventures that come with this animal begin!! Welcome Scarlett!!

Papa and Grandma get HiTcHeD!!!

CoNgRaTUlAtIoNs!!!! Today was such a special day for our family. What a blessing we have witnessed, as Gary and Grandma Cleo have fallen in love and are now getting married!

I have reflected back over the past 2 years and have been humbled with the amount of change that can take place in such a short amount of time. It seems like yesterday that we lost our dear Grandpa Clair and all the heart ache and struggle that we watched Cleo go through after his loss. It was only 9 months ago when Cleo and Gary began to date and fall in love. What an amazing man he is, and a blessing to this family. He has renewed a youthful attitude in Cleo and shown her happiness once again.

What an beautiful day this has been. From the house (which was a week worth of long hour getting finished and ready), to the yard (Gary hired a yard crew 2 days before the wedding to lay sod and finish the front yard), to the food (which was catered by Gary's daughter in Law, a professional chef and one of the most amazing women ever), to the guests (family, and I swear over half of Huntsville's residents as well as friends from St. George and Salt Lake, who came to show their love and support for Cleo and Gary) this day was priceless.

We love you both so much and are so honored to have been even a small part of your magical day!! What blessing's this couple brings to our life!!!
